do you ever have one of those times where life takes over and you realize that maybe you haven't taken a photo of your life for about a week and a half? when you think - is there going to be a spread for project life this week or a big oops sign plastered in instead? that's what i thought.

then i looked in the iphone.....

phew.
got it covered.

the graduate. part II.

it's official.
one year down. many more to go.
coop graduated from kindergarten. he rocked it.

this year tony was out of town and i was officially on kindergarten graduation duty.
i wasn't available to go to aydan's, so it WAS my turn.

i was a mess.......
{i don't think it was wise i went.}

they walked in to commencement. they had on graduation caps they made. they sang songs so show off their grasp of the french language. they were so proud...and rightly so.
when cooper was called to the front i was crying attempting to take video and snap photo's - i had the iphone and of course attempt number one was blurry. i did eventually get one to be proud of and a snapped a couple of him with his best buds.

the ceremony was done so well by the teachers and volunteers and went off without a hitch.

the best part - hearing him call to his friends as we were leaving, "see you in grade one!!!"

it was also last day of school for aydan too!

notes from the last two weeks.

have you ever had a couple of weeks where so much happened but not enough to make up a whole post but you want to share them anyways?
that was my last two weeks.

+ happy mail came in the form of fabric. since i can't go to craft weekend {to far and expensive from here} i thought i would bring craft weekend to me! i'm going to whip up a few goodies for this summer...shhhh.....
the second photo is my order of my drapery fabric. it came!!

+coop made that lego statue all by himself! he was so proud of it, and i of him, that i had to snap a shot.

+figured out how to transfer the whole iphoto library over to a hard drive {14,000+ photos!} all by myself. pretty proud moment there.

+finally got to my lamp project. don't you love it? fill ya in alter.

+took some shots of that pretty girl. melts my heart every time.

+took the kids out skating by myself. loved doing that and finally got a shot of gordon to share will y'all!

+we did some painting and i found another use for my clothes horse...who knew?
i bet all of you and you were keeping it from me! ;)

+was doing ayd's homework with her and found her to be quite clever when it came to her q words - quest and question. she's a wise one that girl.

+saturday tackled doing the valentines photo shoot with the kids - worked out awesome but i am going to talk to you about that tomorrow!

+at the bus stop before going to school, i asked aydan why she doesn't like ham sandwiches anymore and she just looked me straight in the eye and said "i don't know, the taste got away."
well, how can you argue with that? hhmmm......

+aydan went tubbing with the school monday on their pro-d day. she loved it. l o v e d it!
planning to get us all there sometime in the next couple of weeks....hope coop goes for it as well.....

+the husband left for a week of work in vancouver {the lucky skunk!}. been missing him tons and can't wait for sunday night!

+got through valentines with most of the projects i had on tap completed. also i forgot to mention that cooper made valentines too! aren't they cute?

+the pouches - so happy about that valentines project - been on the project board for three years!! i made the pouches for all their loot to go into - like little mailboxes - started them three years ago and finally this year i attached the snaps, the button & ribbon and the initial.
why do i let things get away from me...felt so good to have this done & they are so cute too....
now onto my december daily.....yikes

that's about it! oh i did also locate the stink in my fridge, i think. all i know is that it's now sparkly clean and doesn't smell no more! but you don't want to hear about that!!!
{why do i wait so long to give it a good once over??}

{oh that's right.....because i am so darn busy!}

inspiration.

i have been getting inspiration from all around me lately that it's amazing!
i'm so excited to get cracking on the improvements i want to do and am having a hard time not jumping into it all just yet.

impatient. that's the word.
the perfect word. exactly.

i found a perfect fabric on-line and i can make 4 panels for the living room for under $100 including shipping!!! if that's not inspiring i don't know what is!

turquoise seems to be calling my name more and more right now. loving the thought of using it as an accent colour.

tonight the husband is working late and coop is a little under the weather so the girls are going to craft it up. me with project life and ayd with the scrapbook she got for her birthday that has been burning a whole in our conversations for months. tonight it's time.

i know i am going to have a hard time letting her be her but i have to remember it's a snapshot of how she is now and that it's not my project. mine is my project. and i am excited to start on mine. but i still have to finish 2011. have to. but i might sneak into 2012 just for tonight.

sshh.....don't tell anyone.

Six months gone + july.

I still can't believe that six months of 2011 is gone. History. Part of our history.

When Christmas ended and January rolled around the prospect of June/July seemed so far off. A dream. The distant future. Maybe because it was so cold I never thought we would see sunshine again.....

As I reflect on the last six (seven) months I am amazed and in awe at the progress, fun, growth, laughter, tears and love we have experienced.....

Two kids learned how to skate on the slaved over outdoor rink.

Coop's French continues to improve.

Aydan excelled at school and left kindergarten reading!

Teeth got wiggly and lost - but that one elusive one still remains empty.

The husband made a move at work and their is possibly another in the works.

I found my voice and hopefully something sustaining can grow from that.

We have become a part of this new community and really feel at home.

I am so excited that I had started with project life at the beginning of the year and that I have kept up with it. Best decision! To be able to sit and leaf through the first binder symbolizing the first six months of 2011 is priceless. To be able to reflect on where we were to where we are now is.......I can't find the words. I'm excited for the next six months and what our future as a family holds.

Tomorrow is the official start of our vacation. If you had asked me at Christmas if we were going on vacation I would have said no because that was the situation. The husband's work had a deadline and there would be no vacation - jump ahead six months to where the deadline has been pushed up twice and we get to go!! I myself have had this week off and not until yesterday did it start to feel vacationy - I did a lot of what I had to and not much of what I wanted to. Next week though, different story, I am going to do a lot of what I want to and not much of what I have to. The kids are going to eat way too much peanut butter, too many hot dogs and hamburgers, and too many treats. But isn't that what vacation is all about?

also on monday i will be turning 34...when did that happen?
